The average youth completing grade twelve spends between 3-4,000 hours more watching TV than the time they spend in the classroom

This is why MediaWatch believes that media images and messages contribute cumulatively and unconsciously to a climate whereby women and girls are unequal, sexualized and violence against women is seen as, if not completely normal, part of human relations and behaviour.
